OHP said 37-year-old Guthrie resident Charles Hooper III was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Hooper was driving a motorcycle, wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to OHP troopers.
Four vehicles were involved in the crash that shut down I-35 for two hours.
Troopers said all of the vehicles were northbound on I-35 Friday and when Tulsa resident Rocky Orozco, 28, tried to speed up and jack-knifed going off the road to the right. Orozco was driving a 15-foot flatbed trailer loaded with a half-ton pickup. Then, OHP said Hooper collided with Orozco's vehicle. Hooper was thrown from his motorcycle and then he was hit by two other vehicles.
One of those vehicles was driven by an Edmond resident who was not injured. The other was a white passenger vehicle that left the scene of the crash, according to OHP troopers.
The driver of the trailer was not injured, the OHP said.
