DEL CITY, Oklahoma -

Del City police confirm one person was shot while in their vehicle at 1505 Fontana Lane Tuesday night.

The 44-year-old male victim was pulling up to a house when he were approached by someone on foot, authorities said. Police on scene said the suspect tried to rob the victim. And when the victim got back in his car, he sped off south.

Authorities said the suspect on foot fired 10 to 15 rounds and struck the victim one time in the upper chest. Police said the victim has a serious injury.

Lt. Ted Kleber from the Del City Police Department told News 9 that the shooting appeared to be a drug deal gone bad. Kleber said the victim is from Del City. He went to the house buy some drugs, but it appeared that he got set up.

Kleber said the car the victim was driving had 10 bullet holes, but not all the bullets hit the victim.

Right now, Del City police are looking for two male suspects. No further descriptions are available at this time.

The victim has not been named yet. He is expected to live despite his injuries.
