LANGSTON, Oklahoma -

Agents with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation are investigating a shooting on the campus of Langston University.

According to the OSBI, at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, 22-year-old Cameron DeShawn Hishaw was shot in the upper leg during a verbal and physical altercation in the parking lot of the Scholar's Inn apartments.

Hishaw, who is not a student at Langston University, was transported to an Oklahoma City hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Langston Police requested the OSBI's help in the investigation. Agents spent the weekend gathering evidence and information about the shooting. At this time, no arrest has been made and no suspect named.

Langston University officials released the following statement,

“We are working with campus police and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to determine the facts. The safety and security of ourcampus is something we take very seriously. We are still gathering facts but we do know the person injured was not a student at Langston University. We do not yet know the affiliation of others who may have been involved. We are concerned for the person injured and we wish them a smooth and speedy recovery. In the meantime, we will cooperate with law enforcement officials to get to the bottom of this incident.”

If you have any information, call the OSBI at 1-800-522-8017 or the Langston Police Department.
