Summer-Like Temps Hang On In OK As Rain Approaches For The Weekend

Posted: Updated:

One more unseasonably warm day is almost down and now we've got one more to go. Wednesday night's lows will only drop to the upper 60s under partly cloudy skies.

Skies will remain partly cloudy on Thursday with temperatures climbing to the upper 80s. A boundary to our north across Kansas will allow for a few showers and storms in southern Kansas and the northern fringe of Oklahoma.

Chances for rain look more likely in the panhandle and northern Oklahoma by Thursday night. The metro will just see a slight chance for storms during this time.

Friday is the more promising day for rainfall. The moisture from former Hurricane Simon will interact with the boundary that's been hanging around here this week and will bring the entire state a good chance for rain.

The metro has the best chance Friday evening. A few strong thunderstorms will be possible during this time. Temperatures will be significantly cooler behind the cold front. Highs should top out in the low 70s Friday with highs not making it out of the upper 50s on Saturday.
