OKLAHOMA CITY -

The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma is in need of more than 2,300 volunteers this September to help fight hunger in Oklahoma.

According to officials with the Food Bank, volunteers are urgently needed to help clients shop for food at the Food Resource Center in Moore and to help sort food donations at the Regional Food Bank's volunteer center.

“Our Volunteer Center is usually at capacity with our friends packing donations for our neighbors in need,” said Rodney Bivens, executive director of the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. “However, right now our Volunteer Center is empty. We are in urgent need of volunteers to donate their time and help fight hunger in Oklahoma.”

This September, officials said more than 300 volunteers are needed at the Food Resource Center in Moore to help clients shop, assist with loading vehicles, sort donations, stock shelves and more. Volunteer hours and assignments vary from Monday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
