OKLAHOMA CITY -

An Oklahoma City man was arrested for DUI after police said he crashed into two vehicles, including an officer's car.

Just before 3 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, police responded to an accident involving an officer at N.W. 105th and N. Western.

The officer involved in the accident said the suspect's vehicle made a reckless turn and collided with him. However, the suspect, 23-year-old Benjamin Casteel, did not stop after crashing into the officer.

Casteel eventually stopped after hitting another vehicle. Officers said when they were talking to Casteel, they could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Casteel's breath and person.

Police said Casteel also had watery, glassy eyes and his speech was slurred. When officers asked him if he had been drinking before driving, he reportedly said, “Man, I'm not gonna tell you that.”

Officers said they could not perform a standard field sobriety test because Casteel was trying to run away from the scene, and he was uncooperative when officers tried to take him into custody.

Casteel was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on multiple charges, including DUI, reckless driving, improper right turn, transporting a loaded firearm, resisting officer, and more. He also had a warrant out of Oklahoma County for violation of suspended sentence, and city warrants for public drunkenness and failure to appear.
