An accused neighborhood nuisance is now behind bars for impersonating an officer while drunk.

Police say when they found Andre Scott this week, he was waiving a pistol in the air and flashing a badge.

Neighbors say Scott does not live at the apartment complex on the southwest side, where all this is said to have happened, but it's clear Scott was no stranger.

"This is not the first time I’ve had the cops called on him," Monica Clark, neighbor to apartment 308, said she has had to call the cops on Scott about 16 or 17 times.

Scott has become an infamous character of sorts at the Country Club apartment complex. Known by one resident as predictable, while others knew him by his distinct walk.

"I thought he was crazy, cause he had a walk, he walked like that," complex resident, Stanley Maloy said.

After a deal over an air conditioning unit went wrong, Andre got mad at the resident in apartment 308.

According to the police report, neighbors claim an intoxicated Andre was waving a gun in the air, while at the same time flashing a badge and yelling that he's a police officer in Del City and formally in Ft. Worth, Texas.

"I say that's a fool," said Maloy. "He told me he was a police officer, but I looked at the badge when he showed it to me, and it said security on it, and I just walked off."

Neighbors also say when Andre wasn't waving his pistol, he was speeding down a drive several times with several children around.

"That's all the man is, he's just trouble," Clark said.

Parents in the complex are just glad there's a chance Andre won't be back for a while.

"I was scared," said grandparent Debbie McCraken. "It's a bad name for police officers, and they look up to police officers, and at that time, they were scared, cause he was telling the kids that he was the police officer."

We checked with Del City and Ft. Worth.

Andre has never been employed by Del City, but he was a temporary employee for public events in Ft. Worth but never a police officer.
