Court Records Show Oklahoma Man Married To Two Women

A Norman woman turns to News 9 because she says she just found out her husband is a Bigamist.

Vera Hines says she married David Hines 12 years ago. She says they’ve been estranged since 2006, but her husband has refused to get a divorce because he doesn’t want to help pay for the cost.

Hines says she and her husband reconciled at her place last week. Then she says she went online and discovered her husband has actually been married to an Oklahoma City woman for the past two years.

“He is a liar and he cheats and he ruined my life,” she said, Tuesday. “I married him after I already caught him cheating.”

Hines filed a report with Norman Police on Monday. On Tuesday, the detective assigned to the case told News 9 that in fact court records show David Hines is married to Vera, and another woman.

Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater tells News 9 Bigamy is a Felony that’s punishable by up to five years in prison. As for this specific case, he said “When a case is presented to us, we’ll review it like another matter.”

Hines says all she wants is a divorce.

“I wish I could be there when they arrest him, because I know they will eventually. He’ll go to jail. And he better not call me.”
