Rogers State Hires Fosdick As Head Golf Coach

CLAREMORE, Oklahoma -

Rogers State University Director of Athletics Ryan Erwin announced Wednesday that Josh Fosdick has been hired as the head men's and women's golf coach.

Fosdick comes to the Hill, as the second coach in program history, from the University of Texas-Pan American where he served as the head men's golf coach since 2012. He takes over for Lynn Blevins, who stepped down to pursue other opportunities after coaching RSU golf since its inception in 2009.

"We are extremely excited to welcome Josh Fosdick to the Hillcat family as the second coach in RSU Golf history," Erwin said. "Coach Fosdick brings a wealth of knowledge and experience at a variety of levels to RSU and his familiarity with our region and the entire state of Oklahoma is something that will continue to advance RSU Golf. We are excited about the future of RSU Golf under Coach Fosdick's leadership and his background at the NCAA level will be instrumental as we continue our transition to become full members of the NCAA Division II."

A former National Golf Association (NGA) Professional Golf Tour member, Fosdick brings six years of golf coaching experience, including four at the NCAA Division I level. He spent two years as the assistant coach for the Oklahoma State University men's and women's teams coaching an NCAA individual champion for the Cowgirls, three all-Americans, and six academic all-Americans. The Cowboys finished the year as the top ranked team in the country while the women earned a spot inside the top 10 at the NCAA Championships.

Prior to joining the OSU staff, Fosdick coached the boy's golf team at Edmond Memorial High School for two years helping the Bulldogs to top-10 finishes at the Oklahoma Class 6A State Tournament both years. He also earned Region 8 Coach of the Year honors in 2008.

"My family and I are really excited to be coming back to Oklahoma," said Fosdick. "I'd like to thank Mr. Erwin and President Rice for the opportunity to lead the Hillcats as we transition into Division II. Coach Blevins has done a great job building these programs and I hope that I can come in and continue what he started. I'm looking forward to getting to know the rest of the Claremore community in the coming weeks."

A native of Casper, Wyo., Fosdick previously served as assistant golf professional at Oak Tree Country Club in Edmond, Okla., and Hillwood Country Club in Nashville, Tenn.

Fosdick played three years at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, La., serving as team captain for the Demons during his senior season. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Chemistry from NSU in 1997.
