Thunder Falls To Philadelphia In Summer League Action

Posted: Updated:
ORLANDO, Florida -

After going 5-0 at the Orlando Summer League last summer, Oklahoma City is off to the complete opposite start this year.

Sunday, the Thunder fell to Philadelphia, 84-73, to fall to 0-2 in Summer League play.

Mario Little led the Thunder with 18 points and Steven Adams, Semaj Christon and Andre Roberson each had a dozen points. Roberson led all players with 10 rebounds, five of those on the offensive glass.

Casper Ware had 20 points to lead four Philadelphia players in double figures. K.J. McDaniels and Travis Bader each had 13 points.

The Thunder took better care of the ball on Sunday, but still turned the ball over 19 times. OKC's biggest problem was being unable to shoot the ball well from any location on the court. The Thunder were 37.3 percent from the field, 21.7 percent from 3-point range and just 57.1 percent from the foul line, despite getting to the line 42 times.

Other observations and notes from the game:

-Mitch McGary and Jeremy Lamb sat out on Sunday. It was a scheduled rest day for both and other players will have them throughout the week.

-Steven Adams had a terrific day offensively, hitting 4-of-5 from the field and showcasing a variety of post moves and jump hooks. Only four rebounds for Adams, something that needs to improve for the 7-footer.

-Unfortunately, Nerlens Noel sat out for Philadelphia, so we didn't get to see Adams go up against him. Noel scored 19 points on Saturday.

-Andre Roberson may not be the most gifted offensive player, but the man knows how to rebound. Roberson was 5-fo-12 from the field on Sunday and also hit a 3-pointer. While some point to the Thunder drafting Josh Huestis as a sign Roberson's days are numbered, there's no doubt Roberson has improved and his shooting form looks much more normal.

-Mario Little was very aggressive on the offensive end to get his 18 points, going 10-for-10 from the free throw line. Little has been in Tulsa the past two seasons.

-Perry Jones scored nine points and didn't shoot the ball particularly well, going just 3-of-11 from the field. However, he took eight 3-pointers, showing how he could potentially be used in the Thunder's rotation as a backup to Kevin Durant.

-Next up: OKC takes on Brooklyn at 6 p.m. on Monday.
