WARR ACRES, Oklahoma -

A Warr Acres man arrested at an Edmond motel for reportedly pimping out a pregnant teenager is now a free man.

News 9 first reported on Joshua Hudson's arrest in May 2013, after police said they rescued a 16-year-old pregnant girl during a vice sting. Hudson was arrested for human trafficking and after a court date last week, he received no prison time.

"It sends a very dangerous message," said Brian Bates.

Bates is an anti-trafficking advocate furious with Hudson's punishment.

"Nobody will ever know five years from now that this man is a sex trafficker," Bates explained. "He can literally have it expunged off his record like it never happened. His victim does not get that opportunity."

At the time, police said Hudson was pimping out the girl and electronically monitoring her from the parking lot. Court records show he pleaded guilty, then withdrew that plea and pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of violating the computer crimes act.

"She was victimized again by our courts when they let this man walk out the door," said Bates.

Records show Hudson completed a prison boot camp before his final court date on April 4.

"If I sold your daughter a small amount of drugs, any drugs, I most assuredly will get a felony conviction and prison time. But if I literally sell your daughter, I get nothing," said Bates.

If Hudson obeys the terms of his 8-year probation, then the conviction will not go on his record.

News 9 has reached out to Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater for a comment on this case.
