TULSA, Oklahoma -

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Tulsa County Sheriff's Office, Tulsa Police Department and the Sapulpa Police Department teamed up to stop a speeding Chevy pickup Thursday morning.

The chase began in Tulsa at a QuikTrip at I-44 and Peoria at about 5 a.m.

From there it headed west on I-44 with speeds reaching 100 mph.

The truck exited near Sapulpa and the chase wound its way around the Town West Shopping Center area.

Sapulpa Police officers put out stop sticks which deflated the truck's tires and caused it to crash into a fence outside the Gateway Motor Inn at 49th West Avenue and West 56th Street South.

Officers said this all came to a safe end because they had a lot of help.

"Tulsa County Deputies are more familiar with the roadways and started calling the pursuit. Made it a little easier to follow him," said Sergeant Gary Otterstrom with the Tulsa Police.

Officers identify the driver as Timothy Phillips, 38, of Cleveland and his passenger as Brittany Glenn, 24.

Phillips was booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of driving a truck with stolen tags, eluding and failure to yield.

Glenn was questioned and released.

Phillips told officers he ran because he had outstanding warrants.
