OKLAHOMA CITY -

One person is in custody after leading police on a chase in southeast Oklahoma City, Sunday afternoon.

What began as a traffic stop for a minor moving violation turned into much more after an Oklahoma City man took off from an Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputy near SE 44th St. and S. High Ave.

Authorities tell News 9 the suspect bailed out of his vehicle around SE 42nd St. and S. Stiles Ave. and took off on foot. Deputies cornered the suspect in a backyard in the 4300 block of Stiles Ave.

After a short standoff, the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

The sheriff's office has not identified the suspect nor have they determined why he took off in the first place.

No other information has been released at this time.
