One Arrested After Police Chase In SE OKC

One person is in custody after leading police on a chase in southeast Oklahoma City, Sunday afternoon.

What began as a traffic stop for a minor moving violation turned into much more after an Oklahoma City man took off from an Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputy near SE 44^th St. and S. High Ave.

Authorities tell News 9 the suspect bailed out of his vehicle around SE 42^nd St. and S. Stiles Ave. and took off on foot. Deputies cornered the suspect in a backyard in the 4300 block of Stiles Ave.

After a short standoff, the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

The sheriff's office has not identified the suspect nor have they determined why he took off in the first place.
