A controlled burn at Anderson Rd. and State Highway 105 near the town of Guthrie, Okla., grew out of control, Saturday afternoon.
Fire crews from the Guthrie, Coyle and Meridian Fire Departments responded to the scene.
Authorities say a company was conducting the burn when high winds caused the flames to spread rapidly.
It is unclear how much land burned, but large plumes of smoke were visible on one of News 9's tower cameras. Authorities have not identified the company that initiated the burn.
According to Logan County EMS, the fire did not threaten any structures.
Just before 5 p.m. crews tell News 9 that the main body of the fire is out, and that they are finishing off a few remaining hot spots.
Another large grass fire burned near the town of Blanchard, Okla. on Saturday. Dibble, Newcastle and Blanchard Fire crews were able to get that fire under control just after 4:30 p.m.
Crews say that fire burned 10 to 15 acres of land. No structures were damaged.
