A man was taken to the hospital after he crashed his pickup truck into a home early Thursday morning in northwest Oklahoma City.
According to authorities, emergency crews responded to the crash at about 5 a.m. in the 3100 block of N.W. 36th Street.
The truck driver was taken to the hospital by his wife. His condition is unclear at this time.
"He had staggered out of his pickup truck. My husband had him sit down on the bench. He said ‘I don't want an ambulance.' And I said ‘well, an ambulance is coming.,'" homeowner Ingrid Fletchall said.
The homeowners were not injured because they were on the other side of the house at the time. However, the guest bedroom sustained significant damage.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. But the homeowner told News 9 that the driver may have suffered a health condition before the crash.
"He told us that he has had a stroke not too long ago. So I'm thinking he might have had a TIA (transient ischemic attack) or something. He blacked out, that's what he said," Fletchall said.
