Armed Suspect In Custody After High-Speed Chase In Mustang, OKC

One suspect in custody following a high-speed chase that started in Mustang and ended on the west side of Oklahoma City, Thursday night.

It started around 9 p.m. when Mustang Police responded to a call of shots fired at the Wal-Mart store on Highway 52. Police responded and located the suspect's vehicle, a grey Dodge Charger. That suspect took off armed with a shotgun and wearing a bulletproof vest.

The pursuit lasted approximately 20 minutes, winding through the south side of the OKC metro. Oklahoma City Police officers, Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers and Mustang police were all involved in the chase.

The chase ended near Interstate 40 and Council Rd. when the suspect's vehicle was halted by stop sticks. Authorities were able to get the suspect, only identified as a male, without incident.

No other details have been released at this time.
