A state Senator has filed a bill requiring that the Pledge of Allegiance be recited every morning in Oklahoma's elementary schools. I say of course it should and if we have to require it. So be it.
Here's what you have to say about it... starting with Dahl: "I can't imagine it even becoming a need to pass such a law! Has our society sunk that low?"
Janice in Weatherford: "I would have to question ANYONE who claims to be a proud USA citizen and has a problem with saying the Pledge of Allegiance in our schools!!"
Stan in Ponca City writes: "Every child should be given the opportunity to absorb this and understand what it really means."
Eddie from Tryon suggests: "Maybe leading the Pledge of allegiance at 8:15 every morning is something the president should do. Of course he'd have to bump his tee time back!!!"
From Jo in Enid: "IF we are going to be ashamed of our heritage and our country why are so many wanting to live here?"
Diane in Guthrie: "Thank you Kelly. How wonderful it would be if we could get back some of that old fashioned patriotism."
Reg from Edmond writes: "Should absolutely be recited. Anyone against that is un-American. This has nothing to do with religion. .give it a rest."
Finally, George asks: "If you can't make a pledge of allegiance to America, Why are you here?"
