CREEK COUNTY, Oklahoma -

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has identified the man who died in an accident at an industrial plant near Sapulpa early Friday.

Troopers identify the victim as William Hunter Miller, 20, of Jenks. Friends and family say the lifelong Jenks student survived a diagnosis of cancer at age 4 and graduated from Jenks High School in 2011.

The accident happened at Paragon Industries at 3378 West Highway 117 at about 3:30 a.m., according to the OHP.

The OHP says Justin Simmons, 21, was driving a forklift to pick up some pipe when Miller jumped on the side of the forklift to ride it to the area where the pipe was stored.

Troopers say he slipped and fell off and was struck by the one of the forklift's back wheels.

A release from Jenks Public Schools says Hunter was a member of the golf team who loved spending time at South Lakes Golf Course in Jenks. He was also an avid fisherman.

"Hunter will be remembered as a hard worker who enjoyed spending time with family and friends," the statement says. "He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Paragon Industries, Inc. released the following statement Friday afternoon:

"Paragon Industries, Inc. is deeply saddened by the loss of friend, co-worker and employee, William Hunter Miller. Our thoughts and prayers are with his parents, sister and friends during this difficult time.

During this grieving process, Paragon will do everything it can to assist our employees who have been affected in any way, by providing counseling and support."

According to Paragon's web site, the plant employs about 400 workers and manufactures metal tubing for the oil industry.
