Suspicious Backpack At St. Anthony Downtown Deemed Safe

Police say a suspicious backpack at St. Anthony hospital in downtown Oklahoma City has been deemed safe.

Police were called to the hospital located at 1000 N. Lee Avenue Monday afternoon. Officers say  someone came to the ER for treatment, and left a backpack outside.

The ER was evacuated as a precaution and the bomb squad was called in to help investigate.

Northwest 9th Street was shut down in the area as officers investigated the backpack.

The backpack was deemed not dangerous at about 3:30 p.m.
