Warm, Windy Sunday Greets Oklahoma Ahead Of Cold Front

Posted: Updated:

After a very warm and windy Sunday, one of several cold fronts is headed for Oklahoma, Sunday night.

Winds will relax overnight ahead of our next front. The cold front will move through northern Oklahoma after midnight, and is expected to arrive in central Oklahoma around sunrise.

The winds will turn around out of the north at 10 to 20 mph. Winds will be out of the south ahead of the front at 10 to 15 mph. Lows will range from upper 20s north, mid 30s central, and upper 30s in the south.

The weather looks great Monday for Marin Luther King Jr. Day. It will be sunny and mild, but still breezy. Highs Monday will climb into the upper 50s with some upper 60s down south. Winds will be on the strong side again out of the north at 10 to 20 mph with higher gusts. There will still be a high threat for wild fires as we continue to stay very dry.

Tuesday will be a cold day with highs struggling to climb out of the upper 30s, but we will rebound back into the mid-50s on Wednesday. Our next big arctic blast will arrive on Thursday lasting through Friday. Lows will be in the upper teens and highs will be limited to the 30s with strong north winds.

There will be a slight chance for winter precipitation on Friday, mainly in southern Oklahoma. Still too far out for exact details.
