Tulsa Police say they arrested a man who beat his roommate with a tire iron. Lynn Kyle Mapes was arrested at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

Police were called to an apartment in the 6300 block of South Owasso Avenue and found a victim with lacerations to his head, arms and legs. The man told police that Mapes assaulted him with a tire iron, and police say they found the tire iron in the apartment.

Mapes reportedly told police he was "the guy" they were looking for when they took him into custody a few blocks away from the apartment.

The 27-year-old Mapes is in Tulsa County Jail on a complaint of domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
