It's usually a busy day at malls and stores as shoppers make returns, exchanges and even more purchases.
Across the country, statistics show that this has been a relatively slow holiday shopping season so stores are banking on days like today right after Christmas to make up for some of that lost ground.
Sale! Price Cuts! Clearance! It's plastered on stores all over the metro as retailers try to lure customers inside. And it may be working. Huge mark-downs can mean big savings for consumers who weren't out in full force this holiday season.
According to ShopperTrak, during the week before Christmas, purchases dropped 3-percent compared to the same time last year. But busy days like Thursday and this weekend could pump up purchases giving retailers and overall increase compared to last year.
