What happened to an Oregon girl is so typical of how haywire things have gone in this country.

Eleven year old Madison Root and her dad were selling bags of Mistletoe in a Portland park near an open air market that's held weekly.

They were raising money to help pay the cost of her braces, average price around here about 5 grand by the way.

A guard told her she couldn't sell the Mistletoe without a permit, but when she asked about panhandlers who were begging in the area, he said, oh you can do that.

That kind of sums it all up doesn't it. If you show some ingenuity and try to earn your own way you have to jump through all kinds of hoops, but if you're asking for a handout, hey we're all about compassion, you just be as in your face and obnoxious about it was you want to be because you've been cheated out of something.

Even 11 year old Madison recognized how backwards that is, her comment was... they're just sitting on their butts all day begging for money to buy pot.

If only the rest of the country saw it so clearly.
