Police arrested a man who is accused of breaking into a southwest Oklahoma City home and beating the homeowner with a shotgun.

Police responded to the report of a burglary at 5:28 a.m. Friday, at a home in the 2800 block of S.W. 30th Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the homeowner on the living room floor with significant head injuries.

The victim told police he was asleep in his bedroom when someone broke into the house. The suspect, later identified as 51-year-old Anthony Lee Brown, began beating the homeowner repeatedly with a shotgun.

The victim said he was able to take the gun away from Brown. But Brown continued to attack him, so he used a bat to defend himself.

Officers were able to take Brown into custody. He was booked into the jail on several charges, including robbery with a dangerous weapon, and first-degree burglary.
