Police arrested a Tulsa man Sunday evening after he threatened to kill himself by blowing up a house in the 4800 block of South Nogales.

According to a police report, officers were sent to the home where they made contact with Michael Goins, 37, just after 8 p.m.

Goins told officers he had turned on all the burners on the gas range and wanted to kill himself. The officers said they smelled a strong odor of natural gas coming from inside the home.

Tulsa Police said Goins told them "the house was going to be a weapon," and that he appeared to be ready to "ignite the gas" in the home.

Goins was booked into the Tulsa County jail on a complaint of manufacture of an explosive or bomb.

Jail records show Goins has a court appearance set for October 21.
