The Oklahoma City Animal Shelter is celebrating this fall with a series of fall dog-themed adoption events every weekend in October.
Officials say they hope to find loving homes for a record 700 dogs and cats during the "Dogtober" events by the end of the month.
Adoption fees will be reduced to $30 for dogs and puppies during the month. Animals have been spayed or neutered, have received their age-appropriate vaccinations, have been wormed, and have been treated for fleas and ticks.
"What better way to celebrate fall than to fall in love with a beautiful shelter dog or puppy during Dogtober," said Animal Welfare Superintendent Catherine English. "Be sure to also pick up free pet ID tags year-round at Animal Welfare."
