A Pittsburg County man was stabbed and run over by a vehicle after an altercation at a home on Deer Run St., to the southwest of Lake Eufaula, early Saturday morning.

OSBI investigators were called to assist the Pittsburg County Sheriff's Department with the investigation.

Authorities say they were called to the home, located at 267 Deer Run St., concerning a physical altercation that ended with one man being stabbed and run down by a vehicle.

Deputies say the victim, 56-year-old John Edgar "Oscar" Young ran into the woods near the crime scene before officers arrived. Young was located around 10 a.m. and transported by ambulance to a hospital in McAlester, Okla. He was then transferred to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. His condition is not known at this time.

Crime scene investigators were busy much of Saturday interviewing witnesses and processing the scene. Investigators say they have identified a suspect, but no arrests have been made.

The district attorney will determine what charges will be filed.
