A Ripley, Oklahoma, woman was killed in a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 35 in Oklahoma City, Friday afternoon.

It happened at 4:40 p.m. in the southbound lanes of I-35, just north of Memorial Road in Oklahoma City.

Bob Mills SkyNews 9 HD and Pilot Jim Gardner flew over the scene of the crash. The accident caused traffic in the area to back up for about one and half miles.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 1998 Isuzu Amigo driven by Tony Lee Gray was southbound on I-35, when its left rear tire blew out. The vehicle then ran off the roadway to the right, hitting two light poles before coming to rest on its side in the grass shoulder.

A passenger in the vehicle, 47-year-old Susan Mary Gray, was partially thrown out of the vehicle during the crash. She was not wearing a seat belt.

Gray was transported to the OU Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver and another passenger, a 13-year-old boy, were both treated and released from the hospital.
