Shoplifter Jumps From Parking Garage, Breaks Leg At Penn Square Mall

A suspected shoplifter suffered a broken leg while trying to evade security at an Oklahoma City shopping mall, Friday evening.

It happened at Penn Square Mall around 7 p.m.

Authorities say the suspect was trying to outrun mall security guards outside of the JC Penney store. The suspect then attempted to elude security by jumping from one level of the parking garage to another.

The fall broke one of the suspect's legs. His identity has not been released at this time.

Police say after a trip to the hospital the suspect will likely be booked at the Oklahoma County Jail.
