The Nashville Sounds took the lead in the third inning and never trailed in a 6-1 win against the Oklahoma City RedHawks Wednesday in front of 3,409 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The win gave the Sounds (54-85) a 2-1 edge in the four-game series against the playoff-bound RedHawks (79-60), who clinched the PCL American Southern Division title Tuesday.

The Sounds outhit the RedHawks, 12-6, led by Blake Lalli, who went 3-for-4.

Nashville starting pitcher Alfredo Figaro (1-0) held the RedHawks to one run and four hits over 5.0 innings pitched in the win.

A two-run single by Eugenio Velez put Nashville ahead, 2-0, in the top of the third inning. The Sounds added a run in the top of the fourth. Robinzon Diaz scored when Hainley Statia reached on a force attempt for a three-run edge.

With Che-Hsuan Lin batting in the bottom of the frame, Oklahoma City's Brandon Laird scored on a wild pitch by Figaro to cut the Sounds' lead to 3-1.

An RBI groundout by Stephen Parker pushed Nashville ahead, 4-1. The Sounds later connected on three-straight hits with two outs in the seventh and added two runs for a 6-1 edge.

Six different players recorded hits for Oklahoma City, which was held to one run in a game for the first time since a 4-1 loss in Las Vegas Aug. 10.

Oklahoma City starting pitcher Asher Wojciechowski (9-7) was charged with the loss, allowing three runs and six hits in 4.2 innings.

The RedHawks conclude their four-game series against Nashville at 7:05 p.m. Thursday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
