For the second time, a lightning strike caused a small explosion at an oil battery in southwest Oklahoma City.
The blast happened Monday at 10:30 p.m. near S.W. 15th Street and Morgan Road. Firefighters believe the battery exploded after it was struck by lightning.
A mixture of oil and saltwater leaked into a retention pond and nearby creek. Hazmat crews were called in to clean up the leak.
No one was hurt.
The same battery was struck by lightning in March 2012.
