OKLAHOMA CITY -

Oklahoma City Police are searching for a woman who pointed a gun at a Dollar General Store employee then swiped a handful of cash from the register.

The suspect walked into the store at S.W. 70th Street and Western on May 26 around 9 p.m., just before closing time. The store employee said the woman loitered around the refrigerated drinks section and waited for all the customers to leave the store. When the store was empty, the suspect walked up to the checkout counter and demanded the worker open the cash register and give her all the money.

The employee told the suspect she couldn't open the register without a manager's authorization. Surveillance video shows the suspect walked to the door at that point, as if she were going to leave. The worker turned her back to the suspect, and didn't notice that the woman walked back to the counter.

The suspect put a gun to the woman's back and said, "Open that register right now. If you think I'm playing, I'll shoot you."

When the worker said she still couldn't do it, the suspect grabbed a toy on the counter and attempted to scan it to get the register to open. The suspect then pressed some buttons on the register and was able to get the cash drawer open.

The suspect took an unknown amount of cash out of the register and left the store. She was last seen heading southeast toward Interstate 240.

The suspect is described as a white female with blonde hair in her early 20s. She's approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall, and 180 to 200 pounds. She was wearing a blue shirt with a white, bottled-shaped object on the front and the letters "SE." The word "staff" was written in white letters on the back. She was also wearing black athletic shorts with a white stripe on each leg, and sandals.

Anyone with information about the suspect should call the Oklahoma City Police Department.
