The Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirmed Tuesday that two people were killed when a car and a semi collided in Payne County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirmed Tuesday that two people were killed when a car and a semi collided in Payne County.

The crash happened Tuesday morning on State Highway 33 near Cottonwood Road, about 7 miles west of Perkins. Two people in the car were killed. The driver of the semi was transported to a hospital in good condition.

The crash closed the highway for nearly four hours.

It's not known what caused the accident. The names of the people killed have not been released.
