TULSA, Oklahoma -

Walmart is making it easier to avoid a long checkout line.

Shoppers in the Tulsa area are among the first in the country to test a new app on their smartphones, called Scan and Go.

The iPhone app lets customers scan items as they put them into the cart. The app transfers the purchases to a self-checkout register, where you pay.

Right now, Scan and Go is available at the Walmart at 66th and Memorial and the one at 81st and Lewis, as well as all three Broken Arrow stores, two Owasso stores, and ones in Skiatook, Sapulpa, Claremore, and Coweta.
