Scam Artists Pretend To Be Edmond Police, Solicit Money

EDMOND, Oklahoma -

Police are warning people to beware of letters from a group claiming to be from the Edmond Police Department and asking for money.

Residents in several communities have received the letters, but the Edmond Police Department says the letters are not from them. They want people to know they do not solicit donations through the mail or by phone.

Anyone who receives a letter asking for money is asked to take it to the Edmond police station.
