KINGFISHER, Oklahoma -

A high school Sophomore was called a hero for his quick thinking after he saw a driver lose control and flip off the road.

It happened along Highway 81 just North of Kingfisher while Trey Yoeman was on his way to school with his younger sister.

"He flipped off the road, like it wasn't even a roll. It was like in the air and he turned around the opposite direction and the car landed and rolled again and landed with the driver's side pinned against the ground," recalled Yoeman. "It looked pretty bad and I wasn't sure what he was going to look like. So I told my little sister to stay back. I ran up there, got about 10 yards away and saw the bottom of it. Something down there was on fire."

When he got up to the wrecked SUV, he saw the driver was trapped inside. Luckily the driver was conscious and could talk to Yoeman.

"I reached out and grabbed him under the arms and helped pull him out of there," he said. "I had no idea. I was afraid I'd be pulling pieces out of there. It looked pretty bad."

Luckily, the driver was wearing his seatbelt and did not suffer major injuries.

Yoeman said another car stopped shortly after he did and that driver had a fire extinguisher to put out the fire before it engulfed the crashed SUV. Yoeman said once first responders got on scene, he continued on his way to school.
