A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for central and north-central Oklahoma overnight tonight through Tuesday morning. Precipitation here will begin after midnight Monday morning as rain, with a few thunderstorms possible. The transition to snow won't be as fast and will wait until early Monday afternoon to take place. Once the precipitation changes to snow, winds will increase out of the north at 20-40 mph, causing blowing/drifting snow and blizzard-like conditions.

If you're in the ACTION area, use today to prepare! Precipitation will arrive this evening and travel conditions will deteriorate quickly Monday morning. Roads will become snow covered/snow packed through Monday.

If you're in the READY area, make preparations for a winter storm beginning Monday afternoon and evening into Tuesday morning, making travel very dangerous through Tuesday morning.

The storm will push east of the area late Tuesday morning. However, gusty winds and hazardous Travel will persist through the rest of the day.

One last note: don't get hung up on the exact snowfall totals as the 20-40 mph winds will cause the snow to drift, creating locally higher totals.
