DEL CITY, Oklahoma -

A former Del Crest Middle school teacher is charged with performing lewd acts with a child.

The 13-year-old says last November, 25-year-old Anthony Starks gave her a massage and touched her inappropriately. Court records also show this isn't the first time he's been in trouble.

Starks admits to giving the13-year-old girl a massage, but denied touching her inappropriately. What also has parents concerned at Del Crest Middle, before Starks began there as an In School Restriction Teacher (ISR), he attacked an Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputy in 2011.

According to court documents, Starks was monitoring students November 28, 2012 when he sent one student to lunch early leaving him alone with the 13-year-old victim.

The girl told her mother, Starks began massaging her neck and shoulders, and at some point she says he then put his hands in her pants and touched her backside. That's when the girl says she pulled away, ran out of the classroom, and used her cell phone to call her mother. Her mother then called police.

"That's just disgusting, and they should never allow people like that to work in this situation, especially with kids," said parent, Patricia Scoggins.

The victim says this isn't the first time Starks has made inappropriate comments. She says Starks asked if she "liked older dudes," and "if her boyfriend could give her a massage better than he could." He even asked "if her boyfriend was a good kisser." She was told not to tell anyone about the massage.

"I'm glad that she had the courage to tell, number one, because generally you're afraid that there is nobody to tell," said grandparent, Mary Petties.

The Mid-Del school district released a statement which reads:

"Anthony Starks was an hourly employee at Mid-Del Schools from August 2012, until November 28, 2012. At his time of employment, he met the criteria for background checks identified by the laws set forth by the State of Oklahoma."

"If he had a background check, they would have found out about his records, you know his past," said Scoggins. "To me, it just doesn't make sense."

Court records show, Starks pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery, and received a deferred sentence for attacking the Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputy in 2011.
