TULSA, Oklahoma -

A concert Saturday night at Cain's Ballroom benefited accident victim Taron Pounds, a 23-year-old Tulsa musician.

Two tribute bands performed, as Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, to a crowd of 500 people.

"When they heard about his injury, they wanted to help him somehow, so they decided to volunteer their time and donate their time for this show," Everything Events owner Angela Glidden said.

Pounds was seriously injured when a 4-inch mortar shell firework exploded in his face last July. The left side of his face was crushed. He lost his left eye, and his teeth and jaws were shattered.

"It is an absolute act of God that I'm alive," Pounds said earlier this month. "I'm incredibly lucky to be here."

The accomplished jazz guitarist will undergo around 10 more surgeries. Funds collected at the concert will help pay some of his medical expenses.

During the concert, Taron actually jumped up on stage to play guitar for a few songs.
