Is it time to train and arm a handful of teachers in each school? I think it is. Here's what you had to say.
Kenny in Hinton first: "As a teacher I never imagined a day would come when I would think that bringing a gun to school was a good idea, but I feel we may be at that point."
Charlie writes: "There is no difference in a teacher saving the lives of children with a gun and saving a child's life with CPR."
But Ken in Newcastle says: "Teachers are not who need to worry about or be directly responsible for securing schools. Professional security personnel or campus police are the solution."
DeWayne in Elmore City: "As a parent it's my job to protect my kids at home, at school it's the teachers and other adults job to protect them, so I say ‘Yes' to guns."
Leslie in Moore: "I agree with the Principal and Vice Principal having a weapon to protect the children. I do not agree with a weapon actually being in the classroom."
Heather from Edmond: "These teachers already protect our children with everything they have, let's give them the appropriate tools to make it out alive."
Finally, I got this from Tamera: "As a teacher with OKCPS, I am ready and willing to carry a gun into my classroom. I would defend my kids to the death."
