We're just a few days away from Oklahomans being able to openly carry guns. It's a topic that's drawn fire from both sides.
On Thursday, Oklahoma joins 24 other states with similar open carry laws. Norman Police held a public forum Monday night to help insure people are on the same page.
A Norman police weapons instructor and city legal experts spent more than an hour Monday night answering many questions. There are a lot of questions because Oklahoma's open carry law is complex.
For instance, if you earn the license to open carry, it must be a pistol .45 caliber or less. It also must be carried in a belt, or shoulder holster, or in a case specifically designed to hold a gun.
There are strict rules about the kinds of places you can open carry in.

Those in attendance applauded the police department's effort. If you missed Monday's forum, the "Oklahoma Open Carry Association" will hold a presentation at H & H Gun Range 6 p.m. Tuesday.
