Funeral Friday For OKC Police Recruit Injured In Training

OKLAHOMA CITY -

Friends and family will gather for funeral services Friday for an Oklahoma City police recruit fatally injured during training.

The State Medical Examiner ruled 38-year-old Kelley Chase died from blunt force head trauma. Chase hit his head on a mat during routine training drills. He died Saturday, October 13, from the injury.

Chase was an Air Force veteran who was going through police academy training to begin a new career as an Oklahoma City police officer.

The funeral is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Friday at Crossings Community Church.
