TULSA, Oklahoma -

A passing SUV knocked a baby out of a stroller shortly before noon Monday. The child was taken to a Tulsa hospital with a minor head injury, police say.

"She just had a bump on her head," said Officer Leland Ashley of the Tulsa Police Department.

Police say a woman was crossing 12th Street at Southwest Boulevard with an infant in a stroller. A black Jeep heading south on 12th Street turned onto Southwest Boulevard, striking the edge of the stroller.

The baby fell to the ground, striking her head, and was taken to the hospital by private vehicle. The driver gave his name and left the scene - which is against the law in an injury accident.

The information the man left proved to be false.

"It was bogus; it was," Ashley said.

Now officers are searching for man, described as a white male, age 20-25 with blonde hair. The black 4-door Jeep has a soft top, according to police.

If you can help Tulsa Police find the man responsible for this hit-and-run injury wreck, call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
