Driver Dies After Crashing Semi Into Vacant Building In Del City

The driver of a semi-truck has died after crashing the semi into a vacant building in Del City early Thursday morning, according to the Del City Fire Department.

Authorities say the semi was westbound on Interstate 40, just west of Sunnylane, when it ran off the interstate and crashed into a building near S.E. 9th Street and Sunnylane in Del City.

The driver of the semi was killed in the crash. Authorities have not released the driver's identity yet.

The building is under construction and it was unoccupied.

The Del City Fire Department and Oklahoma Highway Patrol both responded to the incident.

The cause of the collision is unknown at this time.
