OKLAHOMA CITY -

A sister spoke out on Monday after her brother was gunned down in a busy metro parking lot.

The victim's family is still reeling over what happened in the middle of a busy parking lot and shopping complex. Jasen Yousif's father had just flown in from Jordan and had not heard the news until Monday, the same day Yousif's accused killer went before a judge.

David Bloebaum, 57, said nothing during his video arraignment. He stands accused of shooting and killing 29-year-old Jasen Yousif in the middle of a Target parking lot on Friday afternoon.

"He's a larger than life, always had a smile kind of character. Always laughing, wanting others to laugh," Yousif's sister, Laura Yousif said.

But now, the family's laughter has been replaced by tears as they grieve his sudden loss, the second loss this family has had to deal with. Three years ago, Yousif's young brother died in a motorcycle accident.

A family friend broke the news to his sister.

"He called me and said, 'I know it's your brother's truck,'" Laura Yousif said.

Laura Yousif said she still can't believe the shooting happened in such a public place and that people stood around gawking and watching.

Police say witnesses saw both Bloebaum and Yousif driving aggressively down the turnpike before the shooting took place. The family is just trying to figure out what to say to Yousif's 3-year-old son.

"When his mom told him your dad's in Heaven, he said,' do I ever get to see him again,'" Laura Yousif said.

David Bloebaum, Jasen Yousif's accused killer, is being held without bond in the Oklahoma County Jail.
