The countdown is on right now to the 106th Oklahoma State Fair. It opens on Thursday and around one million of us are expected to head out for some fun, food and carnival rides.
Tricks are part of the first ever circus to come to town for the state fair, but inspectors and cowboys don't want any funny business when it comes to safety.
Oklahoma County deputies Randy Garner and Jerry Revel are on an unpaid mission. Cowboys with guns and badges are ready to spot trouble at the fair and ride in to save the day.
State and amusement park inspectors are here to spot any possible problems with their rides before trouble happens, and families are suspended in the air.
Wade Shows has been bringing rides to the Oklahoma state fair for 25 years. This year, there're 72 rides that must pass three levels of state and amusement ride testing before families can get on.
These rides have been to state fairs all over the U.S. before coming to the Oklahoma state fairgrounds.
Five inspectors will test those rides before folks get here on Thursday.
There will also be inspectors on the ground throughput the fair to make sure they are running properly.
There are more than 16 new food items at the fair this year. This includes a Bacon Smoothie and the Deep Fried Cookie Dough on a stick and Chocolate Dipped Peanut Butter and Jelly.
