Former Bethel Teacher Charged With Rape

POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY, Oklahoma -

Pottawatomie County prosecutors have filed a second-degree rape charge against a former Bethel High School teacher accused of having sex with a student.

Deputies arrested 40-year-old Wendy Hickman in August after a 16-year-old boy said the two had sex in July. The student told investigators Hickman also sent him nude photographs of herself.

Hickman taught English at Bethel High School. She resigned August 21. Her next court appearance is scheduled for October 9.
