Good Samaritans Come To Aid Of Creek County Wildfire Victims

Volunteers in Creek County got their hands dirty, helping families who lost their homes in the wildfires prepare for a new future.

A Disaster relief group called "Samaritan's Purse" helped 35 families clear their property, so that new homes can be built on the land. While sifting through the wreckage, volunteers also found jewelry, and other personal possessions.

"With a mobile home like this one, we have to bring torches or rescue saws out to cut up the trailer frame so it can be removed," said Todd Taylor, Samaritan's Purse program manager.

"Then we sift the ash, we remove all the metal from the area. And they're actually raking an area where a new house would potentially go."

Samaritan's Purse is a national Christian organization that provides aid worldwide. They plan to help 25 more Creek Country families this week.
