Oklahoma City police are asking the public to help them identify a gunman suspected of robbing two convenience stores within 24 hours.
The first robbery occurred just after 2:30 a.m. August 23 at a Circle K convenience store near S.W. 89th Street and Santa Fe. The clerk said the suspect walked up to her, pulled a gun out of his waistband and pointed it at her. He then demanded all the money in the cash register.
When the clerk gave the money to the suspect, he said it wasn't enough. The clerk then gave him more cash from a drop box. The suspect took the money and ran out of the store.
Police say that same suspect robbed another Circle K store the next day. He walked into the store near Interstate 35 and S.E. 25th Street around 2:30 a.m. The clerk said the man pulled out a gun and demanded money from the cash registers and the safe. After getting the cash, he left.
Police obtained surveillance video from one of the robberies and released an image of the suspect to the media. The suspect is described as a black male, 5 feet to 4 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall. In the surveillance image, the suspect has a thin mustache. During both robberies, he wore a hoodie and blue jeans.
Oklahoma City police are asking anyone who knows the suspect's identity to call Crime Stoppers at (405) 235-7300.
