Alejandros Rojas will spend four years in custody on drug trafficking charges from November 2011.
OKLAHOMA CITY -
A man arrested in a drug trafficking ring that is possibly connected to the death of a Bethany girl enters a guilty plea in court Wednesday morning.
Alejandros Rojas will spend four years in custody on drug trafficking charges from November 2011.
Rojas and four other individuals, including Jimmy Massey, were arrested for one count of illegal drug trafficking and one count of conspiracy to distribute.
Following the arrests, court documents revealed a possible connection between the drug trafficking ring and the murder of Carina Saunders, the 19-year-old found dismembered in a duffle bag in Bethany during October 2011.
When asked if Rojas is considered a suspect in the murder of Carina Saunders, Oklahoma County First Asst. District Attorney Scott Rowland said, "We've known all along some members of the drug ring Rojas associated with are responsible for Carina Saunders murder but right now there is no information specifically connecting him [Rojas] to her death."
Rojas has an I.C.E. hold and will be deported back to Mexico after serving the time in jail. The drug charges against Jimmy Lee Massey, Francisco Gomez, Luis Arturo Soto and Edgar Alberto Gonzales- Olivas are still pending.
